Amelia is a loving and hardworking mother. In her desire to give her children a better life, she accepts a job from Madam V to deliver a package abroad. Unaware that the package contains illegal drugs, she is arrested at the airport and charged with drug smuggling. Amelia escapes while being escorted to jail while her husband, Jack, is shot by the police. Amelia is eventually caught and imprisoned. While in prison, a fire occurs and Amelia is badly scarred. Although she tries to redeem herself and rebuild her relationship with her children, Lea, Miro, and Oliver, they hate her for causing the death of their father and destroying their family.
After she is released from prison, Amelia undergoes facial reconstruction surgery to remove her for the burn scars. she sustained in a previous jail fire. She takes on a new identity and introduces herself as Mely. in the hopes of mending her children’s lives. She seemingly succeeds in reuniting with her children but later discovers that Jack is still alive. It turns out that Jack survived the shooting incident and is now living a new life with Doris, Amelia’s best friend. Amelia unravels the truth and learns that Doris is responsible for her family’s misery and suffering.
