MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon will continue to bring rains over parts of the country even as Tropical Storm Ferdie left the Philippine area of responsibility, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The monsoon is currently affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Bebinca, formerly named Ferdie, was monitored 1,145 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon as of 10 a.m. yesterday.

It was carrying maximum sustained winds of 85 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph outside PAR.

Still, monsoon rains are forecast over MIMAROPA, Western Visayas and Negros Occidental.

The monsoon will also bring occasional rains over Bicol Region and the rest of Negros Island Region.

The rest of the Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Batangas, Zambales and Bataan may see scattered rains due to the monsoon.

Meanwhile, isolated rains are forecast over the rest of Mindanao.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may see isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
