Filing of certificates of candidacy for 2025 Philippine elections

The Philippines will elect 12 new senators and 63 party-list representatives for the 2025 midterm elections, on top of over 18,000 local officials, from governor down to town or city councilor.

Many aspirants have announced their candidacies in the past weeks or months, but politicians, except for those in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, will formalize their bids when they file their certificates of candidacy with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) from October 1 to 8, 2024.

The venue of this year’s COC filing for national aspirants is the Manila Hotel, while regional and field Comelec offices will accept documents from local aspirants.
