SORSOGON CITY — Sorsogon Gov. Edwin “Boboy” Hamor filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the provincial capitol as he seeks reelection in the 2025 midterm elections.
Hamor will run with Vice Gov. Jun Escudero, who is also gunning for another term under the Nationalist People’s Coalition party.
Hamor said in a statement that he aims to to continue and expand his programs when elected for his second term as governor.
Also running for reelection under Hamor’s slate are board members Ramil Robles, Rolando Anonuevo, Benito Doma, and Eduardo Ong.
Before the start of the COC filing period, which runs from Oct. 1 to 8, Mayor Cattleya So of Matnog town in Sorsogon declared her candidacy for governorship during the oath-taking rites of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas on Sunday, Sept. 29, in Matnog town. She was also declared the party’s provincial chairman and standard bearer.
She will run for the governor post while she has yet to finish her first term as the town mayor. She has yet to file her COC.
