MANILA, Philippines — Doctor Willie Ong will give his Senate dream another shot despite his ongoing battle with an aggressive cancer.
Ong’s wife Liza filed his candidacy at the Manila Hotel Tent City on Wednesday morning.
Ong first ran for senator in the 2019 midterm elections, and got 7.6 million votes.
He was then the vice presidential running mate of presidential candidate Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso in the 2022 elections.
Ong recently announced that he has a “very rare” and “large” abdominal cancer.
