MANILA, Philippines – Olivia Rodrigo’s first concert in the Philippines became more meaningful as she donated all net proceeds of the show to Jhpiego Philippines, a non-profit organization that provides medical services to women and girls.

The singer-songwriter held her GUTS concert at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on Saturday, October 5. The show, which served as her first concert in the Philippines, was also Olivia’s largest audience yet in her entire career as the venue has a 55,000 capacity.

“Been dreaming of this show for a while. My first time in the Philippines and also my biggest venue ever,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday, October 6.

After thanking the crowd for “welcoming [her] so generously” and “making [her] feel so loved,” Olivia also expressed her happiness in being able to give back to the community while achieving a major milestone in her career.

To note, Olivia’s GUTS stop in the Philippines was a “silver star” show — wherein all tickets from across all sections were priced at P1,500 and net proceeds went to Olivia’s “fund 4 good.” According to the Entertainment Industry Foundation, Olivia’s “fund 4 good” is a “global initiative committed to building an equitable and just future for all women, girls and people seeking reproductive health and freedom.”

In her carousel of photos, Olivia included snaps of her visiting the Jhpiego Philippines headquarters.

According to its website, Jhpiego is a non-profit organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University. Aside from programs related to family planning and reproductive health, the website says that Jhpiego also now has “expertise in maternal and child health, infection prevention and control, HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases.”

Olivia said that she got to visit the organization during her stay in the Philippines. “[I] was so impressed by the work they are doing providing healthcare to women and girls in the Philippines,” she said.

“It was the most special show and the most meaningful trip. To say I’m grateful doesn’t even cut it. Mahal kita (I love you),she said.

During her one-night show in the Philippines, the popstar performed her hits “driver’s license,” “traitor,” “vampire,” “making the bed,” and “logical,” among others.

The singer, who is part Filipino, also spoke about her Filipino roots during the show. “I want to say Proud Pinoy po ako,” Olivia said during the concert. “My Tagalog isn’t good yet, but I’m working on it.”
