MANILA, Philippines — Karlo Nograles on Tuesday formalized his intention to run for mayor of Davao City.
Nograles filed his certificate of candidacy a day after he resigned as chairperson of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
In his resignation letter, Nograles said he plans to bring and apply the lessons he learned while serving as CSC chief and a public servant to his hometown.
“This experience has moved me to return to my roots in Davao City where I hope to bring and apply the lessons I have learned in my tenure as the head of the Commission, as well as my two decades in government,” he said in his resignation letter addressed to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
