MANILA, Philippines – Businesswoman Sarah Discaya, who filed her bid to unseat incumbent Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, is seeking a “peace covenant” with her would-be opponent.

“Why don‘t we first guarantee Pasigueños a ‘friendly political campaign’ and maintain a fair, honorable, and peaceful May 2025 election for our beloved city?” Discaya said in an open letter to Sotto written in Filipino.

Discaya’s open letter given to reporters at her Friday presser attached a draft of a “peace covenant,” asking her and Sotto to respect one another, reject any form of fraud and vote buying, use social media “responsibly,” and accept the results of the election.

“Not once did we answer your personal comments bashing our family, with bad words too. Our answer has always been a clear explanation as defense and correcting defamatory accusations against us,” Discaya said in Filipino.

“We are like you, we too are Pasigueños with honor and a reputation to protect,” she added.
