The Philippines’ Angelica Lopez competes in the Miss International 2024 pageant on Tuesday, November 12, with the contest’s coronation night to stream online at 5 pm, Philippine time.
The contest will be held at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Japan.
Lopez, on November 11, via Instagram, thanked supporters for being with her in this journey. She said, “Just hours away from the coronation of Miss International! Your unwavering support means everything to me. Thank you for believing in my journey — together, we shine brighter! In the heart of every supporter lies the strength to uplift a dreamer. This is for you all my kababayan (my countrymen), this is for the Philippines. Mahal ko kayo (I love you). Mabuhay!”
The Philippines is on the hunt for the country’s 7th Miss International crown. Last year’s entrant, Nicole Borromeo, finished as the 3rd runner-up.
Hailing from Palawan, Lopez won the Binibining Pilipinas International crown in May 2023. In the pageant’s question and answer portion on how she walks the talk as a binibini (young lady), she said:
“I stand here tonight because it is my mother that instilled in me the values and the morals that I’m using to be the woman that I am now today…. To also have the courage to face any obstacles of life and tenacity to hold on to her wisdom of choice. And I believe that it’s always a dream come true to be here and that is why I am a binibini that I’ve always meant to be.”
