Korea’s OG egg sandwich brand is hatching a new store in SM Mall of Asia
MANILA, Philippines – South Korea’s viral premium egg sandwich brand, EGGDROP, is making its much-anticipated debut in the Philippines this December!
In egg-citing news, EGGDROP will open its first store at the SM Mall of Asia, Ground Floor, North Main Mall, right beside the new Disney Store, local franchisee Stewart Ong of Butter and Salt Group Inc., (the same group behind M Bakery and ST. ALi Coffee,) told Rappler on Friday, November 15.
No exact date in December has been confirmed yet, Ong told Rappler.
EGGDROP is known for its gourmet egg sandwiches, inspired by the concept of eggs as a “complete food.” The brand’s sandwiches feature A+ grade eggs and fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Soft, buttery, and fluffy scrambled eggs, different fresh ingredients, meats, and special sauces are all nestled between slices of buttery bread.
EGGDROP is the OG brand that started the trending Korean egg sandwich craze, inspiring numerous local shops in Korea and in the Philippines during the pandemic.
EGGDROP first expanded globally in Bangkok, Thailand, with its Manila outpost its second foray outside Korea. EGGDROP is set to launch five branches in the Philippines. The second EGGDROP location is planned for BGC High Street in the first quarter of 2025.
Hundo Lee, an EGGDROP representative, said they also plan to put up shop in Japan, Singapore, and the US.
EGGDROP was founded in 2017 by Golden Hind, a restaurant franchise corporation in Seoul, South Korea. Aside from egg sandwiches, the brand also sells other breakfast staples, crafted beverages, salads, coffee, and more. – Steph Arnaldo and Rowz Fajardo/Rappler.com
