MANILA, Philippines – P-pop group BINI is on their way to world domination following their recent inclusion in Grammy’s “Rising Girl Groups To Know Now” list.

On Thursday, October 3, the Recording Academy released a list of girl groups to watch out for from across the world, including Asia, the United States, and Europe.

The article says these girl groups were “resurrecting the sounds of female empowerment and stacked harmonies.”

Among the 12 acts mentioned, BINI is the only Filipino group featured in the list.

Grammys noted that P-pop is “one of the fastest-growing music markets” in the world, with BINI “leading the revolution.”

“BINI has captured Southeast Asia with EDM-driven pop production and a blend of English and Tagalog lyrics,” they added.

The Recording Academy also acknowledged that the eight-piece act is worthy of their “Nation’s Girl Group” moniker, after being the first Filipino act to enter Spotify’s Top Artist Global chart and performing at the KCON Festival.

Also part of the list are K-pop groups Kiss of Life, UNIS, ARTMS, and international acts such as BLACKSWAN, VCHA, and Citizen Queen, among others.

This is the latest addition to BINI’s growing roster of international exposure.

In June 2023, BINI was also included in MsMojo’s “international groups to add to your playlist” with fellow P-pop girl group KAIA. In March, BINI joined the Chinese variety program Show It All with fellow P-pop girl group G22.  In August, BINI was given the “Voices of Asia” award alongside SB19 at Billboard Korea’s K POWER 100 event.

Composed of Jhoanna, Maloi, Stacey, Aiah, Colet, Gwen, Mikha, and Sheena, BINI made their debut under ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy program in 2021 with the song “Born to Win.”

hey rose to fame with “Pantropiko,”  “Salamin, Salamin,” “Huwag na Muna Tayong Umuwi,” and “Cherry on Top.” The group is also set to stage their Grand BINIverse concert at the Araneta Coliseum on November 16 and 17. – Rappler.com
