MANILA, Philippines — A total of 2,013 aspirants filed their certificate of candidacy (COCs) for the 2025 midterm elections on the second day of filing, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Wednesday.
In its 7:40 p.m. report, Comelec said that 1,558 or 77.40 percent were male COC filers while 455 COCs or 22.60 percent were filed by female aspirants.
This is significantly lower than the 3,259 aspiring candidates who filed their COCs on the first day of COC filing.
The 10 senatorial aspirants who lodged their COCs on the second day of filing were:

- Sotto, Vicente III Castelo
- Lacson, Panfilo Morena
- Lapid, Manuel Mercado
- Negapatan, Eric Abuyen
- Manalo, Magno Canatuan

- Andrada, Manuel Lim
- Gargarita, Jonry Abagon
The 11 party-list groups that filed their certificate of nomination and acceptance on the second day of filing were:

Meanwhile, 54 aspirants filed their COC for congressman /representative; 12 for governor; 7 for vice-governor; 112 for members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan; 179 for mayor; 166 for vice-mayor; and 1,473 for members of Sangguniang Panlungsod/Bayan.
The COC filing period is from October 1-8, 2024.
