MANILA, Philippines — Sixty six out of 183 senatorial aspirants were included in the partial list of candidates for the 2025 midterm elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Wednesday.
The total number of Senate candidates was agreed upon during the Comelec en banc session on Wednesday.
The current number of candidates is more than the 54 who vied in the 2022 elections.
Detained Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder and leader Apollo Quiboloy is 52nd aspirant in the list.
TV host Willie Revillame, actor Philip Salvador, and singer-lawyer Jimmy Bondoc also made it to the list.

One hundred seventeen aspirants did not make the cut.
Among those who did not make the cut were Beth Lopez, who vowed to curse Comelec if she would not be allowed to run as a senator, Daniel Magtira, who claims to be Imee Marcos’ fiancé and Nelson Ancajas, who admitted that he only used the certificate of candidacy filing as a platform to cast light on the rare genetic disease of his child.
