MANILA, Philippines – The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), the biggest climate summit of the year, has been criticized for being held in an authoritarian country with a fossil fuel legacy.
A recent investigation from the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) showed that the summit’s official corporate partners are linked to Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev’s family and inner circle.
