MANILA, Philippines — Marcos government-backed aspirants and supporters of the Duterte administration filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) for the 2025 polls on Sunday, the sixth day of COC filing.
Singer and lawyer Jimmy Bondoc, a supporter of former president Rodrigo Duterte, was the first to file COC for senator. He was accompanied by Senator Robin Padilla.
Another Tulfo is joining the senatorial race. ACT-CIS party-list Representative Erwin Tulfo filed his COC a day after his brother Ben filed his. They are siblings of Senator Raffy Tulfo.
“Do [they] want one Tulfo, two Tulfos, three Tulfos? Do we want one Duterte, two Dutertes, three Dutertes? One Marcos, two Marcoses, three Marcoses? So, we let the people decide,” Erwin said.
Senator Pia Cayetano is seeking reelection. If she wins, she will be joining her brother Senator Alan Peter Cayetano again in the upper chamber.
