All proceeds from Steak To One’s ‘Steak for a Paw’ meal will go to rescued hit-and-run stray dog Bibi’s rehabilitation and veterinary needs

MANILA, Philippines—Steak To One PH (STO), a pet-friendly family-owned steakhouse in Quezon City, is holding a fundraiser meal for its rescued stray, Bibi. He needs P70,165 for his femoral orthopedic surgery on September 22.

“Upon close inspection, we noticed that she had an open wound na sobrang haba and she was limping. Yun pala, she was a victim of a hit-and-run,” Rachel, the steakhouse owner, said in a Facebook reel. (She had an open wound that was very long. It turned out she was a victim of a hit-and-run.)

Available even after the 22nd, the Steak for a Paw fundraiser meal (P2,999) includes Steak To One’s for Caesar Salad, Pumpkin Soup, Steak Friends Fries (rice, fries, and certified Black Angus Ribeye Steak), and Cheesecake Dessert Milkshake, as well as a free limited edition Steak To One t-shirt. It’s available in sizes small, medium, large, and extra large.

The fundraiser meal can be enjoyed at STO’s Maginhawa branch. The brand aims to hit its goal before Bibi’s scheduled operation. As of September 17, they’ve managed to raise P5,900 so far.

As a pet-friendly restaurant, STO also offers its own Pet Menu at Maginhawa for dogs and cats. This includes Bone-y Marrow (P250), bone marrow boiled in water, Paw-rger Steak (P250), pan-seared ground beef from steak and cuts, boiled corn and carrots, steamed rice, and Chimken-y and Rice (P250), where boiled chicken with malunggay is served with steamed rice.

STO will also open an in-store donation jar on September 20, as Bibi is also getting treated for blood parasite prior to the said surgery.

Recently, Rachel opened a pop-up coffee cart outside the Batasan Hills branch in order to help fund her advocacies since opening the steakhouse eight years ago — rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming the stray.

The restaurant also offers free dog food and clean water for stray animals.

Every purchase of the Steak for a Paw meal and any item on the Pet Menu goes to Bibi’s rehabilitation and veterinary needs, while any extra funds will help other rescues.

As of September 15, Steak To One said they had reached P3,400 sales from the pet menu.

The local steakhouse currently has two rescues: Fifi and Bibi. According to Rachel, Fifi was a neglected puppy they rescued from the streets, who tested positive for three blood parasites, which is the main cause of her ankle swelling.

Recently, STO also invited beloved aspin Yoda to have a special Paw-ger meal on the house, after being turned away from Balay Dako last September 8. — Rev Dela Cruz/Rappler.com
